I'm trying to create a deflector shield effect similar to that seen on any
number of the modern Star Trek series. You know, the egg shaped object
around a ship that glows lightly when hit.
I can create the glow by fiddling with the transparency envelope of the
egg, but is there a way to make it glow in just one spot? (Maybe some
specularity setting or something along with a light source???)
Any ideas or suggestions for surface settings for a deflector shield object
would be greatly appreciated. (Maybe I can map an EXPLOSION onto my
shields!)
Carl
